With the new VHI MOT rules coming in this month, what is your view on whether to maintain annual voluntary MOTs or skip until you sell the car?

An eventual reply! :o

If I had a car old enough to qualify, and it was in decent condition, I think I would be inclined to continue with the MOTs.
It gives you an annual check of anything amiss, and backs up the mileage when you come to sell it on.
Also, if you shop around, it's not expensive.

When (yes when) I finish my car it will qualify for this (the irony of the repairs being required due to MOT failure)

I plan to put mine in every 1-2 years.

Mine will soon be exempt but I plan to keep getting a check each year :)

Cheers Gents, I managed to get her MOT’d the last day before the new rules applied so all good with no advisories - if I keep her, I will continue with a yearly MOT as found a ‘friendly’ garage who knows about classics.
