We've had a good little run but 1&1 Internet are absolutely f***ing c**ts. Typical bait and switch, had a good deal first year and now the 2nd year had kicked in, full f**kery. Just had a direct debit invoice notification for double the amount, saying that they've added some extra sh*t to the package that i didn't ask for. My "upcoming notification" was the same day as the invoice date, hmm. Short story is i've emailed them that it's BS and they need to refund me for something i didn't order. Also going to call their billing team in the morning which will be a hoot. If it goes nowhere, i'm calling my bank to enforce the direct debit guarantee to get my money back. If 1&1 are insistent that they can't honour the contract i signed, then i'll cancel the package which means the site will be off line for a while until i find a non-con business, if those exist. I also noticed when looking through the invoices of past that they renewed the domain registration fee, even though it only needs payment for renewal every 2 years. If anyone can recommend a good hosting company please let me know. What this means - site may go down soon. Until then, keep an eye on the Camaro Club facebook page. May even get a new website address, yay Partly pissed already because i've been dealing with writing and negotiating work related contracts with an IT company. IT companies are the new estate agents, let's put it that way. So this topped things off nicely. |

Cheers guys! I'll give as much warning as i can if the case is that the site needs to go down for a short while. Ideally it would be seamless (just a few hours late at night that it may be offline). Good point about the facebook group, this is the one most people are members of: https://www.facebook.com/groups/279331425447963/ I'm just infuriated that i signed up for a direct debit payment of a fixed amount and randomly through the term they've added in an extra cost that i hadn't known about and therefore not opted into and it's something that's not even required. Waiting to hear back from the billing team to reverse the charges and remove the extra "features". |

Yes definitely - tried mass mail before and it kind of worked, for a lot of people it got picked up as spam so they didn't get the notification of the new address but gladly eventually found it. Will give it a try for sure. |

I've used Godaddy for years and never had a problem. Not sure how competetive they are on prices these days, never bothered to check. |
