How about all you "work in progress" peeps, whose cars are always going to be "on the road in a couple of months" giving the rest of us an honest appraisal of when we are really likely to see them. You know who you are |

Good to hear from you Guilty as charged here. My progress is that i found a small run in the rear quarter so i need to razor blade that and 1500 and buff. Then wax the shell,, trunk and rear bumper. Need to pull the front left wheel off to get to the upper control arm bolt to tighten it. Need to pull off the rear wheels and loosen the drum adjusters by 1 click. Then move the car to make sure the wheels are straight as the steering wheel got put on at an angle so need to pull it off then reinstall. Then check rear suspension bolts for torque. Plan is to get all that done tomorrow. Then MOT, which would probably be at some point next week. |

Guilty here too... Though my delays were from being messed about by original garage for nearly 7 months... Our own very able and talented Flak Monkey is on the case now though and hoping to be on the road VERY shortly. |

Another guilty member fessing up ... Delays with my paint held me up longer than expected but things are now hopefully back on track . Car is now painted, all panels and glass back in place , interior and wiring almost complete only some minor parts to buy like speedo cable, hoses and leads and it should be time to fire her up at long last . Always hard to put a time scale on these project cars, for some reason things never seem to go as planned ... Will be back at The Goat and the Harte and Magpies before winter ! |

My 6 month project quickly ballooned into much more work than expected and I'm now 2.5 years in. Got 2 rear quarters, trunk drop offs and tail panel to sort at the rear, then the cowl panel at the front. Some tidying to do on the fenders, then I might be close to being able to paint it. Time and unexpected budget restrictions mean it's likely to be another couple of years, probably more |

I'm no stranger to what you're going through. It'll be worth it though Any pics / progress you can share? Great to hear that you finally go the paint sorted! It's a milestone and certainly gives a nice extra boost to the morale! Sounds like you aren't far off then if it's just the interior and the wiring left Quote: my delays were from being messed about by original garage for nearly 7 months... Wow didn't realise that much time had passed!! Flak Monkey is certainly kicking butt with yours, it's moving very fast and lots of improvements being made too which is really great

It's amazing how these project cars eat up time , what should be relatively simple tasks turn into major issues and often even google is no help ... Went to make a final order from Eckler's and I get a weird message about " Not being able to supply quote " What is the problem with some companies ? Jegs and Summit have got it organized but some sites make it into an ordeal just to spend money with them ... Will be a massive relief to get this car finished and actually drive it again, projects start with good intentions but often end up in "Car Hell" |

Last year I spent most of the time getting the engine rebuilt: https://www.facebook.com/EvilZee28/phot ... 3289870555 This winter I've the following jobs: Fit Standard Grill for MOT [Current RS Grill is solid without doors and covers headlights which are in the standard buckets, the grills should easily swap in and out] Check valve gaps Check diff oil [recently noticed the diff was a bit greasy, but it's likely from where-ever the engine oil leaked - I've a new gasket if I decide to refill/replace] Replace outer door mirrors [current ones are pitted] Replace inner door handles [again very pitted] Replace electric window buttons [pitted] Fit Ignition/Door/Trunk matching lock set Fit new set of pedals Wire up cigarette lighter Fit a period radio head unit [there is currently a JVC CD/MP3 Head Unit which is filling the gap, its not wired up, but I think it'll look better with something more 70's looking. I've also got a aux/bluetooth FM Modulator to wire into the antenna input if I can get a decent looking FM Radio] Install a 3 point harness on the passenger side [to keep the women happy] Re coat the under seal of the car. I'm on holiday to California in September with a visit to Classic Industries penned in, so Ill be coming back with a suit case full of parts which I haven't already ordered |

"It's nearly there, honest - I just need a couple more months!" Repeated ad-infinitum to my other half since I bought the car a year and a half ago... |
