As the title i am looking for 1 particular car, if i can't find it then i will have to build a new one.
Now this all came about a few days ago chatting with my mate about his old camaro and that gave me the idea to try and find it as i wanted to buy it when he sold it but no funds or a drivers licence stopped that.
The car started as a 76 and was red with "The Heartbeat Of America" on the doors, it got raced at york raceway like this for a couple of years in the early 90's, then the purchase of an elcamino saw it retired and the engine pulled.
It then got sold to a guy in halifax who painted the car yellow and changed the front end for a shark nose and 1/4 bumpers, he then sold it back to my mate still as a rolling shell.
The car then got sold on again to a guy in nottingham still as a rolling shell and i don't recall ever seeing it again, (this is approx 13 years ago)
The car sported 15x15 centrelines on the rear and skinney's on the front, alston rear spoiler,
jaz seats, electronic line lock, fuel cell.
It would be nice to buy the car but it may not even exist anymore, not seeing it may suggest it was split for bits or may just be in someones garage doing nothing, anyhow thats what i'm after but i am probably looking at building one from scratch.

Bryan, I hope you find it, it would be great if you were reunited (sort of) with it. Maybe try the NSRA forums, lots of drag racing guys there, or the York raceway guys might know too.

If its out there, I'm sure we'll find it together!

Thanks steven, my mate is going to dig some pics out and hopefully get a registration off of one and search the dvla and the insurance database and see if that throws anything up, if it's still around it should be easily spotted as the nose and rear lights won't match.

Hi Bryan best of luck with your search. Maybe you could try this site:-

http://www.ukdrn.co.uk/forum/index.php? ... 62bcbe4e96

It's all about drag racing history in this country. Post a starter thread there & maybe someone will know of the car. Might be worth while to PM "timetravel" on there as he has loads of historic pics of most cars. he probably has the biggest collection in the country.

here's another thread for people researching their camaro whereabouts:-

http://www.rodsnsods.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1489

Hope that helps, cheers.......Nige

Well i have posted on a fair few sites now for info so i suppose it's just sit back and wait now, but it could be a long wait as no one seems to know it was painted yellow.
