Tile fell off the house roof this morning and hit the car.

Luckily it missed the T-tops and hit the actual roof part. Left two 10mm gouges in the roof. I guess I'll have to get the whole strip resprayed.

Gutted

Sorry to hear, that is a very unexpected thing to happen

I guess the only comfort is as you say, that it hit the body work instead of the t top glass. Hopefully you can find a good body man nearby to iron out the dent and do a good blend job on the paint. Let us know how you get on with it...

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

I remember in the 80's my brother had a mk1 Capri , full metal flake paint job which cost a small fortune back then and a big eagle on the bonnet, he parked it in a friends old garage while he went abroad and the entire garage collapsed on it (comp, etc with pitched tiled roof)

I did think about house insurance but I don't think it will cost too much to sort so don't think it's worth the hassle. It's not dented it just deeper and wider than what I would call scratched, its gouged into the metal. Guess a bit of filler and respray will do the job.

Just waiting to hear from a local sprayer I had do some work on the last Camaro.

I've started parking the car away from the house now.

Should be up for the Stars and Stripes, have to remember to enter this year

Haven't sorted the roof yet as it's not a big scratch but will have to deal with it at some point.
