Post subject: | REGISTERING A USED CAR USA IMPORT |
Hi folks - is there anywhere on this web site that gives some guidelines on getting a used imported car registered? I have obtained the docs from the DVLC and the guidelines are pretty useless. There are loads of questions which refer to a "Certificate of Conformity", SVA, IVA or MSVA certificate - none of which I have. I was under the impression I only neede to get the car MOT'ed and insured to get it registered. Some of the questions I could answer from general info - ie length and width of the car but emissions / drive by sound etc ?? Should I leave them all blank given I don't have the documents they refer to?? On thevehilce tax rates there does not seem to be any referene to "Historic Vehicle" Class (mine is a 1970 car). The guidelines no longer refer to the C386 customs doc (I imported the car a few years ago) - it seems the system has changed in the meantime it seems to have changed to a "NOVA" system?? - hope this doesn't cause me probs.
