The rear hatch gas struts on my Camaro are worn & after a few bumps on the head need replacing.
While looking for loft hatch struts for work, I came across this company that can also do car struts.

http://www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot ... /chevrolet

They don't keep everything but can rebuild your worn struts for under £30 inc postage. I assume this is cheaper than getting them from the States ?

Better than a broom handle & lumps on the back of your head !

Getting em regassed for £30 aint bad! I'm trying to remember how much i paid at RockAuto for mine. I think it was about £12 for each, so approx £25 for the rear, plus VAT, plus shipping and no customs (under £130). I also bought the fronts which were about £6 each. You are probably looking at £40 minimum to get them from the states... unless you need other parts shipped, i would entertain the regassing scenario (i ordered a few other parts with the struts so it made sense to get everything across in one order).

I've never used Rockauto (yet) but a quick trip on their site & they are £35 inc shipping, so similar priced.
Not sure if Rockauto comes into the UK via ParcelFarce ? As they always seem to ad a charge or a weeks delay !

They do unfortunately use Parcel Farce lol. I like UPS because at least you can pay on the door on arrival - PF send you a letter first, ask you to pay in order to release the package which is annoying as you say, adds a delay to the whole process. Customs should only be charged when the value is over £130, VAT is taken care of by Rockauto as they are a registered merchant / handler for VAT. So technically, it should be straight to your door as no charges are incurred at import. I'll have to check my receipts - i have one pic on my phone and looking at it, the f***ers charged me VAT, even though i paid VAT at Rockauto. WTF. Angry phone call time. No customs on it though. I'll pull up the receipts when i get home and share the purchase experience. No customs was on there though. Parcel Farce of course charged a handline fee of £8 despite having already paid them to deliver it, w***ers. Why did they charge a handling fee when i already paid them to deliver it in the first place?! Even if it was due to VAT - there shouldn't even have been VAT charged. I'm p***d off now

That's the prob with Parcel Farce.
I'll prob just get my struts refurbed but I have a list of other jobs / parts that need doing.

Sundays lump on the back of the head pushed the struts up the list lol.
