What is the one car that you should have bought or you sold that you wish you hadn't?? here's mine:- Mmm, this one hurts, I was offered a '63 split window corvette back in 1980. Red in colour, with a 283 & Wolfies for £2000.00 or offers as the guy that owned it had been killed in a plane crash. I decided that I'd rather keep my '69 Firebird, so I declined the offer. Back a year or so ago the car was featured in American Car World, painted silver. It turns out that this car was "one of one" produced as the prototype for the tooling etc for the production run. None of the part numbers were as per the production run but began with its own serial number. The car also debuted at the Earls Court motor show that year. How rare is that, the first pre production Vette?? Aaaaaargh!!, cheers......Nige |

1968 Dodge Coronet. It was hemi orange, vector wheels, like a poor man's General Lee - I love the General Lee and somehow it just stopped me from buying this, but looking back, it was a solid but tatty (interior, paint) MOT'd fresh Cali import MOPAR, offered to me at about £4000 - if I'd bought it, painted it, new seat covers, door cards, carpets, what would a 68 Coronet look like on my driveway today....mighty fine! i cant afford a MOPAR now!!! |

I tend to just buy the cars I want and only the Gran Torino that was on eBay really escaped me but no tears. I wonder whether that Corvette is the one that is in Claremont Corvette in Snodland ? I used to live in Snodland and would take my boy into the small showroom they have there at the weekends. One of the Corvettes was red and had some kind of vertical angled front windscreen. A crease in the middle for want of a better description. According to legend the owner of the shop also had some kind of prototype Vette that he kept out the back and only showed to a few selected people. A real gem in the car world but I never saw it. |
