Nice 1st gens rule but 2nd gen are beautiful cars and in an ideal world I would have both... Off topic Steve, but have you seen the black Formula that the guy at The Goat was talking about ? |

no but his brother with the blue mustang often talks about it and reckons he has a garage full of spares..... Simon with the truck knows a fella who restores muscle cars in much hadham as well so its a small world.. dont really want to organize it but maybe another pub meet just for yanks and other interesting classics somewhere in herts |

Interesting...keep me posted. There seem to be more people emerging and it would be good to get them together. |

I know I am slightly biased................ however it isn't strictly fair since the spec on the cars owes more to the mods not the originality of the cars! Sounds beautiful tho' |

Good call TC, i would be interested to see a stock 1st gen vs a stock 2nd gen. No mods or anything, just factory car v factory car |

Factory cars differed greatly especially with 1st gen...In the '60s the options were almost limitless and you could order cars with the same spec engine that would perform and handle like totally different models based on choice of transmission, final drive ratio, posi or non posi, disc or drum brakes , heavy duty handling pack, etc etc. 2nd gen cars tended to be more standardized but again thre was considerable variety, and it was probably difficult to find 2 cars in the same town with exactly thesame spec. Also some dealers encouraged the customer to tune or modify with official factoty upgrades... Glory days |

ye that's quite true, allowing for things like COPO Camaro's and Yenko's Plus all of the unlisted RPO codes that if you were in the know, would get you some pretty decent equipment I think if you were to do a like for like, the closest way maybe doing something like a 68 RS / Z28 v a 78 RS / Z28, something along those lines. Might be a tough one to try and organise that race lol. |
