I believe you have the magic touch lol.

I drove to work and my hands were freezing from the steering wheel, so i can't imagine how frozen yours were! I need to get a decent bike (cycle) as my old one i've had for about 20 years and it was getting a bit worn out (the irony of being in the same garage spending 4 years fixing up a 34 year old car   ). Would like to cycle to work as since i moved jobs i'm a lot closer now and i need to get back into the health routine (now my back is in action again).

Guanabara looks like a very cool place! Have a good one there.

Halfway through writing this i got a call saying that my dad had been taken to hospital. So that's kind of changed the mood of the day. Apparently he was getting really dizzy and couldn't stand up, his blood pressure was over 200 so they had to get ambulance out. He was starting to feel better by the time they arrived, blood pressure had dropped but was still high. So just waiting to hear from the hospital for when he can be picked up as they are running some tests at the moment.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. He was able to come home a few hours ago after they did some tests. Everything seemed to check out ok so they've put it down as a miscellaneous incident. His pressure was lower after a while but they've advised him to go to the GP tomorrow and get another look over and get a subscription for some pills that help will maintain blood pressure. So will wait to see what the GP says tomorrow. Is your dad suffering from heart issues Stu? Didn't realise and hope he's ok?

Oh and this is the stuff you can't make up. 2 hours after receiving that call, so right in the middle of all this, i get told i'm being made redundant. Awesome.

Yep my old fella's had a number of strokes, a few major heart attacks culminating in triple bypass about 12 years ago, and kidney failure a couple of years back so is now on dialysis, and blocked garrotted arteries in his neck.
Had to pay £700 to get a tooth removed privately by a facial surgeon this week, because we couldn't find a dentist that would take the risk with local anaesthetic in his condition.

Hope your old man recovers OK, and hopefully it's nothing too serious. I'm guessing they'll do all the usual tests and checks for coronary issues and anything related. Medical tech is so good now virtually everything is treatable depending on the risks involved.

Proper bummer about the job though, as you said not the best week for you... I can put some feelers out for any positions coming up with some of the Tunnel Run/Petrolhead Nirvana guys as lots of them are in IT.

Not the best of times no, also found out my nextdoor neighbour had a heart attack on Wednesday but he's ok now, no surgery needed. About 6 months ago my uncle had a heart attack and a stroke and need triple by pass surgery. He's recovered thankfully, life's all a bit too real at the moment. Dad's doing ok now, he was given a full check up and everything checked out ok. He's got some pills to keep the pressure regulated and he feels normal again. Thanks for all the well wishes. Stu i wish the best for your dad, sounds like he's having a lot of medical attention, scary stuff. Glad to hear that he's going strong after a bypass so many years ago, it's a good sign that he's a fighter :) On the job note, i would much appreciate that offer, thank you! I'll send you my CV once i've updated it this week. No leads for another one Nige, They're cutting jobs across the other regions too (even though the company is growing :? ) so it's all a bit of a blank page right now. Would be great it we lived nearer indeed, could help you move some of those projects out the door :) Would enjoy that, i'm sure i'd learn a tonne!
