Well 2013 has pretty much come to an end with only another couple of days to endure/cope/get through/enjoy etc...

I've got some big plans for 2014, car and personal, so here they are:

Car stuff -
Main effort I think is to get the bodywork sorted on my pink monster. It was lovely when freshly done back in July 2005, but is now looking ever so rough (hence the camo stickers to hide it.. :( ).. it's gonna be pricey, I probably can't afford it but gotta be done.
Gonna try and book and commit to at least 6 track days (depending on the car body schedule), and do some new circuits I haven't been too (Cadwell and Oulton Park).
Will make my best effort to go to Le Mans in June, again work clashing dependant.
Sell the BMW and buy a smaller, cheaper, more frugal car to run as a daily. (some of the sale money will go into Camaro body I think)

Personal -
Keep up the gym schedule I restarted back in September, but up it to 3 times a week, and get fitter.
Ski more, and do more freestyle stuff, and build confidence for jumps, try and visit indoor slope at least once a month out of season.
Push the work plan, using new promo being done now and try to get more lucrative better quality work with less stupid hours and high miles travelling, leaving more time and energy for the above.. :D

What about you chaps .... ????

2014 schedule simple: Continue racing and try to improve results (in the pipeline as we speak) and try to creep much closer to retiring
Cheers, Martin

For me to endevour to persevere with my '68 Firebird hardtop .
I am begining to see light at the end of the tunnel, but there is a lot to do still...
As for other things I will plod forward slowly and hope that luck or fate don't throw any setbacks in my path.
Will be good to see your car when it is completed Stu

I have a plan to have a major tidy with things being FIXED and a simplification of life!

Also want to spend more time in IOM sorting out the place- after all of last year's excitements- we were hardly here and the garden is overrun.

We have 1 trip race/event per month in the calendar for early 2014- am really looking forward to April Manx Classic with the V8 team coming to stay.

On car front: CJ Jeep is almost complete; Camilla is around halfway through a bit of a sort out; perhaps I really should reduce the "fleet" at some stage- maybe Big Red- the Hartge, and my spare V8 Jeep?

Lots to do on the House front but the end is in sight!

keep well all!

Happy New Year to all of you !

Well, like Martin Sportsroof, I will be racing my '69 again in 2014 - first outing is HSCC Donington Park on 6th April.
The 350 ci engine has not been touched since a rebuild in 2001, and getting more mechanically clattery so a Winter Freshener is in progress right now. The front clip is off and all manner of corrosion is being attended to. The engine looked remarkably clean internally on tear-down. Martin Savill is re-routing the aft exhaust pipery to see whether we can eliminate some of the resonance that has made passing the decibel tests such a pain.

2013 was my first full season racing the Chev and I have not enjoyed a racing season so much for years.. and the Chev claimed the class championship. Roll on 2014 and hope to meet some of the Forumists at a track somewhere,
Nick S

Hi Nick and Happy New Year! Congrats again on your success, I'm sure Hugo would have been proud. Like yours, my engine is having a much needed refresh and I'm hoping I'll be there for the season opener so we can compare notes..
Cheers, Martin

Hmm, let's have a think

Car:
Paint, get the glass in, finish the exhaust, final checks, MOT, tax, insurance and drive it, go from auto to manual.
Go to some meets
Try out a track day or two

Personal:
Find new accommodation
Find a mrs
Do some soul searching

Not sure what else right now, but i'm sure that will keep me busy for a while!
