the wifes alternator has busted and the one in her truck has broken too...
local car spares shops want £400+ but there this on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271230529063? ... 1423.l2649
why so cheaper :problem: the other option is too get power parts to recondition it and they have a good rep.......

I took my PowerMaster alternator to an electric tool workshop to get it tested,
nothing more.
They told me they could´nt do it but a workshop in Barcelona could.
They´d take it there and collect it.

The bloody thing came back in a hundred pieces, in a cardboard box.

No explanation, just oops sorry.

Situations like that over here you walk away from, they offered to rebuild it.................at my expense.

I bought a new one, same model, cheaper from Summit.

There are no honest professional people left.

BTW you need some serious soldering kit to rebuild a PowerMaster alternator.

I was quoted £180 for a chevy alternator in Inverness

They´re probably the best option if you want to keep your engine bay stock looking.
Stock went out the window the first week I had the car.

After the car is started and the alternator has topped up the battery,
the electrical system is powered by the alternator, the battery then being nothing more than a cushion as you switch on various accessories.
That´s why, as I´m using an MSD ignition system, I have one of these on the car,
Powermaster Street Alternator 47802.
