While enjoying ourselves at the Goat I got a phone call from me mate that his c10 had broke down a few miles away. Dave(firebird68) shot up there on his Harley and got it going
but im afraid it stalled a bit later and even though i fired it up again Simon called the AA...
Dave I will keep you informed ....

please note Dave will be at Buntingford on sept 7th and will except beer weather permitting :D :D

Always glad to help a bowtie or poncho guy in trouble :P
Hope he got some assistance from the AA and got back home OK
Very nice truck, I'm sure a clean out of the float bowels and a new fuel filter and all will be well.
Good to meet up at The Goat again, good times and good cars as ever 8-)
Will be up at Buntingford as it is a great event and rounds off the season before the dreaded onset of dark nights and bad weather...
See you there, will post about it in the events section and see if we can tempt a few more away from their keyboards :P

aa guy was about late 40's and said to Simon he has never worked on a Holley but knew Webbers inside out....stripped the carb and full of shit like you said Dave and got it running ok now me mate is trying to get a filter locally :problem:

he was lucky as another fella I knew had a tvr and his back calipers siezed and I was workin about 2 doors away...a young aa guy came round and said he could sort it out and f#@***£$%*'~#'@ it up bigtime :lolno:

That's weird, cos TVR brakes, particularly rears, are just standard for bits usually..

Good work Dave though, bit of old school experience always wins through ...

Good to hear your buddy got home alright, those small chrome filters are not a good idea as you can't see what is going on...I would also tell him to fit a clear fuel line as it makes it easy to spot things like water in the fuel etc. I would also say clean the tank out as a filter will clog if the tank has rust also old fuel lines in steel can produce rust...
