We are shortly to sign up a deal with Footman James- so wait until it is set up and go fro a quote there- once the special code for the discount is revealed!

I used Frank Pickles when I had a kitcar a while ago. Really good price and friendly service.

Found Flux a bit offhand so will see how things go with Performance Direct.

Did the Footman James deal work out? Am with Flux, but not liking them at all and will likely look elsewhere.

My renewal is up next month so shopping around. I have an ok policry with Flux (underwriter is equity red star), £250 fully compl (£220 plus their pointless renewal fee). Insured as daily driver. The only thing i would like (apart from a better price) is to be able to drive another car 3rd party.

Kinda struggling already. Classic Line had to contact the underwriter directly as it was a main use car and not a 2nd car policy. Got £412 quote, underwritten by... Equity Red Star... the same people that have underwritten my policy for almost half the price. Makes sense. But they can't give me the option to drive another car 3rd party.

Waiting on a quote from RH and A-Plan. I spoke to RH originally a couple of years ago and they wouldn't insurance it as a main car. I wonder if it would make sense for me to put it down as a second car policy? Seems to be pretty impossible to get insured. Kind of confused.

I'm now going through the same process Ray, though I don't need cover for it as a daily driver.

I've only had a quote from Classic Line so far and that was £333 for 5000 miles, including breakdown cover. That's with every modification declared (a whole side of A4)! I'll be giving A-plan and Flux a call to see what they can offer.

Mine is up in a few weeks, im with flux currently and got them down to £180 last year on an 8000 mile policy for me and the mrs as a daily driver(we also have a different car) including agreed value, driving any other vehicle and the nitrous oxide kit that i haven't even fitted yet, the renewal has just come in at £220, Flux promise to match any cheaper offer and this is the company who did me the £180 offer that flux matched

while i have the magazines open there is also one i havent seen before called "Peter s taylor and co" might be worth a punt? its 01273820303
please update the thread if any of those two come up trumps, most of the big companies were laughable when the quoted last year, bearing in mind mine is a 1997 car i thought brentacres quote was pretty amazing

E.T.A just remembered flux did add an extra £25 onto the £180 when i added the mrs and told them she would be using it for commuting

That sounds pretty good for that mileage, daily use, 3rd other vehicle and nitrous..... 25 quid isn't too bad for business use, surprised there was any extra for just occasional commute though.

The £25 was to add my Mrs and allow her to use it for commuting, only 1 year ncb on that car as well
