I've just got home to a letter from my insurance company telling me that "Due to a change in our panel of insurers we are unable to offer you a renewal this year" So can anyone recommend a decent insurance company that doesn't rip you off for having a hobby? :chevy:

I put a list up of companies I've used over the years. .

A search might bring it up. I'm currently with Classic line who are great. .

We have really good rates for the Trans Am and Fiero with Frank Pickles. Give discount or being in a club too.

Been with them a few years now and each year the policy only goes up a couple of quid each. Never had to ring round to get a better quote ;)

I'd highly recommend RH Insurance (http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk / 01277 206911).

In my own experience I got the odd quote from Flux but they were always too high. G Sykes will come back with a good price but I've found the paperwork you have to do for limited mileage policy is a hassle, and their customer service was occasionally a bit crap.

I found RH to be breath of fresh air in comparison!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I've been on the net and ringing around today and I've settled on A-Plan at just 80p more than last years premium. One company told me that they wouldn't insure me because I am employed by a Motor Factor and they didn't insure anyone from the Motor Trade.
If it wasn't for companies like mine helping to keep cars on the road they wouldn't have anyone to insure!!!
Sometimes my head starts to hurt when I deal with idiots

What the f**k.

Surely that would mean you can repair the car easier and cheaper and 2.... pretty sure that's discrimination. Same reason Diamond and Sheila's wheels were being discriminatory against men for being born with a certain genetic code. Sorry but discrimination really rubs me up the wrong way.

Glad you got insured though
