I shall be leaving our grey rainy island and heading to the US for a driving trip with my mates at Petrolhead Nirvana this September.. I did the Alpine European tour with them back in 2010 which was an incredible experience, and they've run this trip for about 5 years now, so know what they're doing. I just signed up yesterday, and confident it's a proper driving trip, with just a bit of sightseeing. Really really looking forward to it.. chevy Fly into San Francisco and pick up a Convertible Corvette along with about another 20 or so people in 12-15 or so Vettes. Itinery is: Day 1 - San Francisco via the mountains to Santa Cruz Day 2 - Trip to Laguna Sec then Pacific Highway (with a short cut to take in some more twisties) to Sanata Barbara Day 3 - Santa Barbara, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Angeles National Park leg of the trip, finishing in Barstow Day 4 -Barstow to the Calico, Mojave National Preserve, quick drive on Route 66, Hoover Dam then arrival in Las Vegas Day 5 - Day in Vegas Day 6 - Las Vegas to Death Valley National Park, Artist’s Drive loop, Furnace Creek on way out to Mammoth Lakes Day 7 - Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite National Park, past Mono Lake, then Eldorado National Forest in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, to Napa Valley Day 8 - Napa Valley to San Francisco I'm booked in as sharing a car, so I'll be doing half the driving with another person. I know there are still a few places left if any Classic Camaro Club people fancy it, as be great to have a fellow Chevy fan there, but it has been promoted on Pistonheads so will fill up fast. http://www.petrolheadnirvana.com/drivin ... -dreaming/ |

I can't really afford it either I've been procrastinating for the last 6 months whether to do it. I put the deposit down so I'm committed now.. |
