talking to a plumber on a job and he has a harley on starcar hire and gets about 2 jobs a year....he says its good money for easy work but to register they want my personnel details plus car details which seems a bit dodgy over the net ...does anyone here deal with them or another agency and how much work do you get?????????

I used to have a 68 Charger, converted to a General Lee Lookalike and used it few times to take stag do's into Town and did a few weddings.

Got £300 for a wedding but that was for 5 hrs work going back and forth different venues and for the one way taxi ride into town, charged £100.00, which was easy money for half hr.

An agency once offered me £900 for the day to use the General on a show stand at a large auto show, sadly I broke down enroute and lost the cash and the contact....

was so much stress with all the jobs I vowed never to do it again, sods law says something will go wrong outside the church lol

Mike Barr (star car hire) is genuine, I'd trust him. A professional outfit.

I assume they either want movie/TV type cars.. or very original looking classic ones don't they ?

I've been approached in the Central London a couple of times about having mine in music videos but there was no money offered, just basic fuel cash, and seemed like a hassle, when I don't generally have much time.

the guy i was talking to said channel 4 hired his bike for a documentary and has done a few photoshoots for about £300 a day...and being that he was a plumber it would take him a least 25 mins to earn that....

25 minutes work, but 14 cups of tea, and half an hour of chin scratching and tutt-ing...
