So the new Years almost upon us & it's time to say goodbye to last year. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very healthy, prosperous & Happy New year. :D

Ok, down to a little bit of business. No doubt you've noticed that other car club forums are quite busy, but ours isn't that active at the moment. One thing I aim to do in the New Year is contact the various relevant car magazines & try to get them to write a bit about this place to let people know we exist. ;) Also it's maybe time to look into having club T shirts, etc made to spread the word. Also to make people aware that the club decals are still available. Maybe there's a show that would interest a lot of you on here that we could attend en masse??

As club/forum members, what would you like to see happen with the club/forum to take it forward to the next level?? Any thoughts would be appreciated, as after all, this place is here for YOU. ;) :D

cheers...Nige

Hi,

T-shirts definitely, but let's have a quality item.

Windcreen stickers definitely work, I met up with another member due to the sticker in my rear window!

Meeting up at an established show might be an idea, it would reduce the workload for sure. Dare I suggest another muscle car group's show would make sense.
The challenge would be that some of the other club shows seem to be busy already.

Let's see what others want to do?
:D

I'm up for anything! I did try generating some interest with the club hoodies. The one I ordered is still going strong. I'm in contact with Brendan from the AACI and they are happy for us to tag onto the shows at Billing giving us our own space ( much like the Trans Am and Caddie boys n girls) I'll do almost anything ( except wearing budgie smugglers) to get the club up there with the best of them! We can take on the Mopar and Mustang clubs!!!

Im up for attending shows as long as they aren`t too far away.

I was talking to someone at work who`s in his 60`s and has had a mustang for about 30 years. He was saying that the camaro and mustang club would all chip in and hire santa pod for the day so they could all race. Anyone remember this, does it still happen, any idea if its possible? If not a santa pod show or rwyb would be a good event to attend. So those who want to race can.

Where can I get the camaro stickers?

I don't recall the MOC & Camaro's joining forces, maybe it was before my time. Send me a PM re the stickers & I'll sort it out for you. They're £3.00 each plus postage

cheers...Nige

Heading into 2 different schools of thinking here already?

No surprise with such a great diversity of membership.

May need to think of ways to cater for both?

:? :? :?

I don't think it's heading into two different schools, it's good to get as much feedback as possible as to the likes & dislikes of everyone. In doing so we can see which is the best way forward, as you're always going to get different viewpoints from people, ;)

cheers...Nige

I'm up for anything that moves the club forward! I mean I'm not into modding or racing but Santa Pod's ok for a meet. However it would be expensive, I still think piggy backing one of the major meets is the way forward this year till we ascertain who are the hardcore ( not porn ) members are :D

Like one suggested, a track day maybe, split up the cost with another car enthusiasts club preferably American domestics.

Another one would be like a cars and coffee meet up in the morning, Saturday or Sunday.

I would quite like anything that defrays the £45 pa cost that I personally have been paying every year to the Domain Hosting servioce for the privilege of having this Forum/site running in the first place! Because it is getting so large I am receiving notifications that the Domain is nearly full and so Steve has to do some urgent pruning of pictures and the like.

Not sure what the answer is-
Some forums charge a small fee for any items that are posted here for sale
This might be a start?

What do you guys think?

I am happy to provide services when time allows such as full decodes (for£30) and even insurance accredited valuations at rather more. But not much call for these this past year!

Suggestions welcome!! The problem is that we do not charge a membership fee here since it is administratively a hopeless quest as far as I am concerned and I really want it to be open to all.

As far as where the Club goes- this is frequently raised- and I have no issues with organising a get together provided I don't have to do it myself! I seem to be too busy and mostly in the wrong country! Whenever I have tried this in the past the CCCUK has produced few cars and third parties feel let down- for whatever reason.

Combining with other Yank clubs is a sensible option given the cost of fuel and the wide spread of CCCUK Members. (As we do locally in IOM etC)
