Hiya

I discovered something similar on my tank not long ago. Have you got a pic of the damage? Mine had a hole, about the size of an average sized screwdriver.

What i did (thanks to help from Nige (EvilZee) was that i sandwhiched the hole between 2 small plates of steel (one on the inside of the tank, one of the outside, with some leak stop acting as a backup gasket between the 2. There was then a bolt going through, with a nut on the end (me  ) so that i could create pressure between the two plates. Technically leak stop was not needed, but used it as a failsafe.

Maybe save you the pain of gettin a new one? Here's a pic:

Of course, you could always weld it  :? lol    (please don't weld fuel tanks)
