I've just learnt via Mike Lintern that Tony Gransden, chief mechanic for American Autoparts, passed away this morning after a long battle against ill-health.

Tony was involved with Drag Racing from way back and was a smashing bloke and a good friend.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my condolences to his wife, family and friends.

R.I.P. Tony, we'll miss you mate

Wow- this is a huge blow to all of us American car enthusiasts

Tony Gransden will be sorely missed by all those who share his passion for american cars

he was a legend - way beyond his acknowledged expertise in auto transmissions

He rebuilt Camilla's Box as well as CJ jeep's TH400

he was one of those guys with a kind word for everybody and a huge understanding of all things American

he is already sadly missed

Very sad, Tony was a lovely guy. Had some good laughs with him at the track back when I used to drag race and he was always upbeat and happy. Good with the autoboxes too as Tim says.
Haven't seen him for years now but doesn't make it any less sad.
I have only good memories of Tony.
Cheers, Martin
