There's a company called James Tyler that do a range of custom painted guitars & one of their range is a distressed looking guitar called "burning water". Here's a guitar I've just finished painting that I've titled "smoke on the water", due to the smoke on the black background. :incheek:

I started out with a sanded down body

Which I then primed & gave a black basecoat

I then added some smoke in white, to which I then added some green candy

I then lacquered the artwork & sprayed the guitar silver followed by House Of Color passion purple

After flatting the purple down to the artwork underneath, I ended up at this stage with the distressed look & then lacquered it.

Here's the finished article after flatting/polishing & rebuilding with the pickups, strings etc

All in all a very simple method to get a distinctive looking guitar, hope you like it.

Yeah he's well pleased. He's a guitar teacher & has loads of pupils going to him for private tuition, so there's a few more in the pipeline. I think the next one's a Celtic design. Also got a guy from the Netherlands sending one over to be done. When I suggested it might be easier to get it done more locally to him, he said he'd been quoted 1800 euros !!!!!!
