Hello All,

I'm new to this forum so I thought I would say hello. I don't own a Camaro, but I do have a love of all classic american cars - I currently own a 1968 Ford Mustang project car and a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 for driving as often as possible. :D

As part of my restorations I have designed and manufactured myself some custom LED tail lights for the Mustang and now I am also working on lights for the Galaxie. I thought you guys on here might be interested in what I have done so thought I would join and post some info :)

When I bought my Mustang it had the indicators placed into the low mounted reverse lights and an additional trailer light for reverse. I wanted to return the rear to a stock look, but obviously in the UK we need amber indicators to pass the MOT. I set about designing a bespoke LED array to fit within the stock light housing. Unlike other LED products on the market I have used high brightness LEDs to get the amber indicators to work behind the stock red lens. When the indicators are off the rear maintains the stock factory look and reverse lights can be returned to their original location.

Other examples of what I have built so far can be seen on youtube if you search for brightlightcustoms.

This same techniques can be applied to almost any vehicle light housing - hence I have posted it here.
I can design and manufacture one-off bespoke lights or if there was a group of you interested in the same design we can work something out.
If any of you guys are interested in something similar for your Camaro (or any other vehicle) or would like further info then please contact me either by PM or email: brightlightcustoms@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks
Nathan

Hello and welcome...

Looks like a great idea, and very popular conversion in the US..

I was looking at making a set of LED rear light myself using a set of spare rear housing and lenses I have sitting around. I lost my reversing lights to have orange indicators, so would like to get them back one day..

I could well be in contact for an idea on price, if it's not crazy money it saves me a whole load of work..

Hello and thanks :)
Price will depend on what you want. I can make a full set of lights, but a cheaper option is to make just the indicator part and use the normal tail/brake bulb. Or i could make a white and amber light to fit the reverse housing.
If other owners are interested in the same then the price per set will get cheaper the more i make as the largest part of the cost is getting the actual board manufactured. There is a cheaper alternative using premade prototype boarding for a one-off.
If you're interested drop me an email with approx light housing size and we can discuss ideas and costs.

Thanks
Nathan

I was looking into buying a led conversion for my Firebird but will contact you for details price etc.

Hi Guys,

When you email me please can you include approx dimensions of the lights and also if possible photos of the lights (or a web link to a photo). This info will help me give you a better indication of cost.

Thanks :)
Nathan
