When we bought our house a few months ago, we knew that it needed to be rewired before we could do any decorating & putting our own feel to the place. Well, after 4 weeks of total disruption it's nearly finished. The electrics been off & on more times than I can remember, so I'm finally gonna be able to get my life somewhere back to normality. The down side is that I've now got to decorate the whole house :(

I really hate any form of disruption to my daily routines, prefering harmony & balance. What gets you guys going & why??

THAT explains where you've been lol! just logged in and saw Evilzee28 plastered everywhere

Wow, what a job that is! are you doing it yourself or hiring out the labour?

Good question, what keeps you going. I guess it's imagining the end result. Thinking what it will be like to walk down that hall that you designed and made, knowing the electrics under your feet are good to go. Then you get into your new kitchen with shiny new stuff and everything works and no-one has used that stuff before. Looking around and comparing the before and after - you know it will happen and will be muccch better and theres a certain level of accomplishment and pride that comes with that. That's kind of what i do with the car - i see a good example of a muscle car and think, mine could be like that and mine could sound like that, and that is good and soon i will not rely on going to meet for someone to bring one - i can just go for a drive and get the experience when i want, knowing that my hard work has hopefully paid off. Looking at before and after pictures or before and during pics always make you realise how far things have come.

Good to have you back

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

Hi Ray, no, I'm not doing it myself, I've got a friend of mine who's a qualified sparky doing it for me. It was originally only supposed to take a week & a half, but his father was rushed into hospital with a heart attack, so he's had to spend time sorting things out there. Should all be done this week though & be fully certificated.

Unfortunately, all of my spare time has been taken up with sorting out the things needed to make the job easier, like getting up the carpets, moving stuff in the attic etc etc. With the electric going on & off, and sorting stuff out, I've not been able to have much uninterupted time on the 'net, hence my absence from here.

As to what keeps me going?? I guess it's 'cos it has to be done & I'll get nagged if it isn't   Seriously though, I have always been driven to finish whatever I start, I have a vision of what I want, a plan on how to achieve it & then go for it, I'm the same with everything that I want to achieve.

cheers...Nige

Major work on your house while your trying to carry on with life in general is a right pain agreed.

Things that bug me are basic incompetence, laziness and negative attitudes that seem to be the scourge of life in 2011....
