OK, so some of you know that I don't have a Camaro but I run this website, strange maybe? Well, at the time I started this site, I was the proud owner of a 4th Gen Camaro, albeit a Jap Import v6. It was beautiful nonetheless and I did love it, but we have too many kids, so we couldn't all fit in it, so it went....and I got a Ford Crown Vic "Cop Car" instead. Attachment:

I run an American Car Club and website/forum on the Isle of Man called "Manx Yanks" http://www.manxyanks.com, and one of our members is Tim Boles who was Club Secretary of the previous incarnation of the Camaro Club. He asked me to put a site together to reform the Camaro Club.I also own a 3rd Gen Transam which is morhping itself slowly into KITT form Knight Rider. You can see my kitt here..... http://www.starsky-iom.com/knightrider Attachment:
I used to own a 1976 Transam 6.6 when I lived in Bristol but sold that when I moved back to the Isle of Man. I also recently owned a Ford Gran Torino "Starsky & Hutch" car, but we sadly sold him last year but I do fancy another one in the future.I have also recently bought a 1972 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, the second Shadow I've owned, this one being much nicer than the last. I used to hire Starsky out for weddings and still got so many requests for wedding cars, I decided to buy this Roller. http://www.starridercars.com Attachment:
I've owned a few other odd things over the years, a TVR Tasmin (Wedge shaped thing with a 2.8i V6 Capri engine), 4 Beetles, Landrovers etc.....

Some very cool cars there Steven. I mentioned before that I had a Mercury Grand Marquis last year which came from the IOM. I wonder whether the previous owner was a member of Manx Yanks ? Do you recognise the car by any chance ? |

No, I don't know the car at all, but that is a Manx Number plate for sure! |

Well, to be fair it did only have 27k miles on the clock so can't have been out much. Was imported in 1998 so had 10 years on the island. Didn't realise there was no such thing as an MOT there ! That must be nice and 1 less expense/worry each year. |

Yes no MOT (but if you bring a car in to the IoM you have to pass a VERY strict one first) Cars over 25yrs old pay £5 road tax too, so if you have an old car its great, cheap tax and no MOT! |

here's a pic of my first '55 Chevy which was painted pink metalflake when i first imported it from the US. I painted it satin black in true street racer style It had a very hot 327 & 4 speed & ran really strongly.

This is my second '55 Chevy that I fitted a 468 cu in big block with roller cam, tunnel ram etc. it ran 10.57 @135 mph (no nitrous) It was fully street legal too The car originally came out of a scrap yard & I fully restored it. I removed the body from the chassis to detail it & then put the body back on & sprayed it in a black base with burgundy pearl over the top.

That Trans Am is absolutely gorgeous, awesome restoration job mate. I'd had never parted ways with something beautiful for a first gen. I think my next one will be a 2nd gen Trans Am after seeing your one. |
