I'd have thought Classic Industries would sell both of those, or certainly the Badge. US ebay definately has key blanks they'll post over cheaply and get them cut here at a local shop.. |

You'll need to get a multimeter, and check the resistance of the VATS resistor in the key. It's dead easy, I'm sure you'll know someone you can borrow a multimeter from for 5 minutes! All the info is here: http://www.vatskey.com/vats/vatskeylock.htm But if you can't be bothered to click through here it is: Quote: All VATS keys have a resistor embedded in the key blade with metal prongs protruding out of each side of the key blade. In order to read the resistance of the resistor in the key blade, place one lead of the ohm meter on one metal prong, and the other lead on the other metal prong, opposite, on the other side of the key blade. With the leads in there proper position a resistance value can be read from the ohm meter.
I used a place off eBay for my old RS's spare key, local place cut it.Once you get your reading, match the resistance value given by your ohm meter to the resistance value, in the right column, in the chart below. The value from your ohm meter will probably not match, exactly, the resistance value in the chart below, but choose the value closest to the value on your ohm meter. The corresponding code number is the identification number of your VATS key. Code: CODE RESISTOR VALUE IN OHMS 1 402 2 523 3 681 4 887 5 1130 6 1470 7 1870 8 2370 9 3010 10 3740 11 4750 12 6040 13 7500 14 9530 15 11800 Just search for Camaro VATS key (or just VATS key blank) - something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1989-1990-Chevrol ... 0569111598 will do. Hope this helps! |

Hi Neil, I contacted Bauer-Millett and they said they could get me one from the US. I had to email them a copy of my V5 to prove ownership and for them to get the vin number. I receieved a new key with the correct fequency chip in it in about 10 days. Mind you it did cost £63 Hope this helps Cheers Gerry |
