I tried Flux & found them more expensive than Hagerty. I used to use a company called Aon for my previous cars, but I couldn't find any record of them when I went to insure the Camaro

AON are still about, I use them, but they now insure through Footman James. Had a look at Hagerty, they are fuddy duddies :lol: ,to insure a car with them, it can't be modified (unless it's for show use :eh: ):

Sorry we don't insure

Hagerty does not offer an insurance product for:

* Drivers under the age of 25.
* Inexpensive home-built car kits that do not replicate a classic vehicle.
* Drivers with poor driving records.
* Any vehicles used for off-road or utility type driving.
* Pro-street vehicles modified exclusively with racing features such as roll cages, wheelie casters, nitrous systems, parachutes, etc. (Consideration may be given to show-use only vehicles).
* Regular-use vehicles driven on a daily basis.
* Vehicles used primarily for commercial use.
* Motorcycles.
* Caravans.
* TVR’s after 1980.
* 1990 or newer vehicles doing more than 3000 miles per annum.

That's fine for me as my car doesn't fit any of those criteria :thumbup: :thumbup: :lol: Mine does have a cage, but they were fine with that :thumbup:

Funnily enough, when I insured the Camaro end of last year direct line came up the cheapest!!
They beat all the other classic insurers hands down!!!
Oddly enough they wanted MORE to insure my 1.25 Ford Fiesta than the Camaro!! :?

I tried a mainstream insurer and they didn't like the modification - a stainless catback exhaust! Would not give me a quote.

those stainless steel cat back exhausts cause havoc to the roads! so many accidents are down to them. they cause the car to be extremely unstable, mess with the stability and crumple zones and general safety.

In other words, bollox. its an exhaust, insurance companies can be real d*cks. :roll:
