I'm in IT, totally bored sh*tless of it now, mainly because we are so restricted to what we can do, so all I do is wait for something to break.

As for what I would like to do, well...if I knew that, I'd be doing it :D

Also work in I.T. Not bored sh*tless luckily as the job is interesting. Fully qualified sound designer though, that's what i'd really love to do. Did it freelance for a couple of years but the film industry was heavily effected by the economy "crisis" so it was hella hard to find work. I would love to also get into car customizing, love painting, though i'm not really good yet, would love to be able to do it properly. Worked for a little bit at a custom car place that was really cool.

Can't you move sideways into TV as a sound editor .. ? I got a few friends who do that, hard work but not bad money and interesting...

I took early retirement in 2000.
I use to work as an Engineering Inspector in the Middle East. I loved it. Prior to that I worked for Babcock & Wilcox on the construction of and repair of Power Stations.

It´s nice now being retired and able to spend the days as you please.

Ye i did a bit of that too, had a mate that worked in a couple of places in Soho. It's a lot more production line style with TV as they jsut want it to be broadcastable the majority of the time. You may get a lucky and do some good sound design if you're on a show like The Wire. But ye it's still good either way, so if you're friends have anything going :)

Nice!

So you're the guy who designs these nice cars and concepts and instead they just rehash the same shape and just move the body line by an inch here and there ;)
