Hi Guys

Please can as many of you as possible post your thoughts on the idea of an electric or range extended electric Camaro?

Do you think it would help keep the cars name alive and be the next logical step for the brand to take?

or

Do you think it would kill the brand and take away from what it means to own and drive a Camaro?

I'm really looking forward to reading all of your opinions on this.

Thanks
Michael

So my thing with electric cars is - where does the electricity come from? power stations. without getting into a big debate on renwebale energt etc the majority of fuel for power stations comes from burning materials and therefore you're not really gaining anything by having an electric car. don't even get me started on hybrids... my clio gets better mpg's running regular fuel :)

and to answer the 2nd part of your question, yes, a muscle car without a grunt and a v8, would kill the brand...as we know it. there's nothing to say that the electric camaro is accpeted by future generations and a different demogrpahic, but it certainly will kill it for anyone today thinking of buying next years model. I'll be upgrading my car soon to a modern day muscle car, and if it's electric, it's not happening.

hope that helps!

Thanks ,
Ray

An electric Camaro is a bit of an oxymoron  . Doesn't float my boat at all. The "green" lobbyists have got a lot to answer for in my book. Don't even get me started on these tree hugging issues :x , as Ray says, hybrids are a waste of time & energy too. Not interested in an electric car in any shape or form, don't like them, don't want one, not having one...Period.

For me the "real" muscle car era died in the early 1970's.

cheers...Nige, the dinosaur.
