Just recently got back from my holidays having spent 3 weeks in Southern France. I was wondering what places you guys like to go to & why, or maybe recommend somewhere to go in the future  . What with going on hols & buying a house, I've not had much time on here of late, looks like I've got some catching up to do

cheers....Nige

Gotta say I'm a fan of sunshine and this year I'm on my hols (probably last for some time given I've just split with the ex) to Mexico which really does tick all my boxes (sun, sea, sand, history, 'exotic')

Sri Lanka is great - very friendly and it is fascinating to see echoes of our colonial past still being used (oh and if you go try the red bananas)
Gambia was/is one of the poorest countries in the world but the people there are sooooo friendly it just beggars belief, the Atlantic there is so warm it' like stepping into a bath
Cuba is interesting (seeing those old yank-tanks driving around is quite sureal) but again very poor and potentially a limited range of food

Would love to go to Kenya/SA for a proper safari (as long as I had a decent camera!!)

I have to be honest here, i'm not one for sitting on a beach soaking up the sun (although i do like good weather), so my last 4 holidays have all been to New York city, with one of them taking in christmas and new year in 2006/2007, thus realising one of my "things to do before i die" by spending new years eve in times square. That was a really memorable night, although next time, i would spend the money on a ticket for one of the restaurants/bars and sit in the warmth untill 11.45 (no toilets/bars/food etc on the street )

I like orlando, great win win allround really, having kids it's great for the theme parks, old town for the cruise and theres usually at least 1 swap meet on. Went to the turkey run at daytona a couple of years back on thanks giving and it was massive, it's a must if your there in november.
Been to vegas and wouldn't mind going there again for a few shows (not just car shows) i liked most te hotels as they all have something special about them especially the belagio fountains.

I love Vegas too, I'm not into gambling, but just love the hustle bustle, the Hotels, they're jsut amazing, there's plenty of car stuff too, the Imperial Collection, I even managed to catch the LV F-Body club BBQ while I was there, some awsome T/A's and Camaros.

There's the LV Motor Speedway for Drag racing, the Shelby museum, I went to the Knight Rider festival too....and even jsut watching the cars drive down the strip is enough for me, even your average family car burbles like it should. So many big pickups and stuff too. I need to get my US fix soon, may be going over next March.....

I arn't in to the gambling either, but i did try a couple of the 1 free spin on the one armed bandits and a couple of the win a million for a dollar one arm bandits, also had a trip to Laughlan (if thats spelt right) the mini vegas, and checked out the car museum in one of the hotels, can't remember the name though now, we also drove from vegas to LA got 226 out of the hire car accross the desert, but we did see the signs saying flying speed cameras, went to Manns chinease theatre and did the holywood walk of fame, thought it was a sh!thole of an area, nearly crashed the car as well, couldn't quite believe what i was seeing, middle of the afternoon 2 blokes walking up the walk of fame dressed in fishnet stocking high heels mini skirts ect, wouldn't have noticed really but one of em had a great big beard, only in america.
I think were going to try for orlando next november around thanks giving again, might see if i can get to the zepher hills swap meet.

I've done the Florida thing, what with Disney & Universal, but the best part for me was going to the Old Town cruise  . Whilst out there I went up to NPD in Ocala & bought a load of trim/parts for my '69. Talking to the guy behind the counter he mentioned that there was a large car collection out back that belonged to his boss. As it was almost closing time he took us to see the the cars which is quite a collection, stored in a large wharehouse. Awesome!!

I've never really fancied Vegas as I'd always thought it'd be a "tacky" sort of place to go. Is this not the case?? Admittedly my judgement's based on TV programmes that are filmed there

cheers....Nige
