My penny worth - looks too good to go drastically altering it.

I suspect there are fans of Gen 1 that would wish they had a car that good.

VIN tells me it is a 1969 V8 Coupe

a good start!
can you show us the cowl plate please?

(on the firewall)

I haven't even mentioned what a mild rebuild with Aluminium heads and 9.5.1 compression should yield an easy 350-380 BHP on unleaded

I will get them for you.

I don't thing 350+ is a good idea on the standard non assisted drum brakes.

What can I do about those without breaking the bank?

Love the look of your car and welcome to the forum.

Being an old fart I must say I think it would be a shame to loose another original car, there´s not that many left, but that´s just me.

Also you may want to think about the new MOT´s which will come in sometime if not next year.
You may be spending alot of money on a car you cannot use.

Do it up but keep it as origanal as possible.

Sorry about being negative.

Hi Amituk, if you really are going to do it up, i got these for you to roll around on while your working on it. Ive never had, and always wanted, a set of rallys on my 68, it would really set it off for a classic look.

I put a small thread up about the 2012 MOT changes here - http://www.classiccamaroclubuk.com/phpB ... f=1&t=2037

If you fancy a straight swap for an '88 IROC-Z let me know!

I would definitely save the money you were going to spend on an LS6 for a set of 11 inch willwood brakes all round- (superlight 11 calipers front ultralight rears)

Or try Hyspec see:
http://www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk/

they will build you a brakes set to fit inside 15 inch wheels no probs

We have to use 15 inch wheels and use Hyspec brakes- on a track racecar that is geared to 160 mph plus!!

Have you had any issues with the hi-spec brakes, as quite a few TVR guys have fitted their kits and I've heard very mixed reports..
If you're going up in wheel size there's a huge amount of options available...
