I've done about 25 or more track days now, and have only seen bad driving at a few, and I am careful to choose quality organisers that keep numbers down and standards up. The worst is people who try to outbrake you coming into a bend, fine in a race, but a big no no on trackdays, and most guilty are often the racers that have bought last minute time from the trackday organiser and are using it for testing.. !!!
Any dodgy driving is usually dealt with swiftly and by the organiser, removing any personal confrontation between drivers.
I've never seen a collision between cars yet, and only seen actual body damage once when a guy hit the tyres after a big off that no-one could work out how he actually managed it.

In fact at Brands last week, I complained about 2 young guys in an Audi A3, that keep sitting on the inside line of the track the whole way round, so you couldn't safely use the racing line as they'd be sitting right there in your mirror as you turned into the apex. I just don't think they got the etiquette of it at first. Orgainser had a quiet word and they were fine after that (I think they left soon after as they were having brake trouble, with smoke pouring out of the front wheels every time they stopped :twisted: )

305 replaced by a 355, 750 Demon carb, RPM AirGap intake, Brodix heads, Hedman Hedders, 3" Flowmaster exhaust.
Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.
Location:Spain East Coast

You brought up some good points there Martin, gave me a bit of a perspective shift as to the safety aspect, drivers license etc side of things. Let's just stay away from using Pirelli tyres then based on this weekends Silverstone F1 race :wtf: I guess if you go to the well run events, you will avoid those types that Chevy Stu mentioned who don't pay attention and cause problems for everyone else on there.

As you mentioned your stint in drag racing, thought this was a fitting vid :)

Front wheel drive burnouts have always and will always look pointless and a bit sad....
The icing on the cake here is the pile of bits and burning oil puddle. :crazy:
