Well Nigel You certainly start the best questions off!

I have been described as a racing driver who has to work- ie I 'm not good enough racing driver!

Basically I think I am an entrepreneur. I did c. 10 years commissioned in Blues & Royals and then about the same being a pensions and insurance analyst in City.
Set up Everitt Boles Motorsport Insurance management in 90s- now sold.
I am currently chairman of AKG Group Limited www.akg.com
and having arrived on iom with new wife and nothing to do I then set up a pension buisness with a local law firm called Simcocks in 2003. Since that idea on a A4 pad we have become the largest international ie Offshore pension provider on IOM. We do QROPS- as well as other imaginative things!
So if there are any expats out there with pensions locked in UK with some dozy insurance compniaes - talk to me.

My biggest client is Sandvik Mining & Construction (they like the advertising!) and that is why they fly me down to RSA to manage/hold the Trustees meetings as we can then demonstrate that the buisness is run from JoBurg not EU and we don't have to charge em VAT!
I look after Chile, Tanzania, Zambia, RSA, Ghana. Dubai and Zimb for them
Just arrived in IOM having done Capetown-JoBurg- Frankfurt- City- IOM AND have just woken up after 3 hours kip!
As far as Yank cars are concerned I was brought up in the Highlands of scotland where we had masses of Champs/ L/Rs and Jeeps. Was driving ame from aged 9, did Welsh hill rally 2 weeks after getting test!
Anyway you are all probabaly falling asleep again

Another great topic - nice to hear about all of you. I'm a professional guitarist/guitar tutor. Most of my work is teaching through schools these days since I've settled down, but I've toured and travelled extensively with my guitar on my back and had some great times all over the world! I love my job for the most part but I do wish I'd learnt more about cars! A dream of mine is to be able to restore something under my own steam but it's not likely to happen...

Got into American cars via the Dukes of Hazzard growing up :lolno:

I've had a 68 Mustang, 69 Dodge Dart a couple of Z28s and a Corvette. The sixties stuff is out of my price range now :( Still loving my current 1990 vert

Wow, Tim have you invented the 36 hour day as you sure seem to cram a lot into 24 hours by the look of it & I thought I was pretty busy  All very interesting stuff

Swap you   I wish I'd learnt to play my guitars properly. A dream of mine is to be able to play without having dyslexic fingers  I've got an Ibanez lead guitar & an Ibanez base that I custom painted. See, I can't leave anything alone without painting it. I've posted this before, but just in case you missed it......
