Would it not be great, if some of us who showed up at Speedfest, plus some others who didn't, could meet up somewhere under more relaxed circumstances.
Just to talk cars and stuff, over some liquid refreshment (non-alchoholic, of course, officer) and maybe nosh.
I'm sure we could come up with a location that wasn't too inconvenient for most of us.
I would be OK with just about anywhere within or around the M25. Would prefer NOT to pay a toll.
Push come shove, a service area would suffice.
I appreciate that those that would have to travel a serious distance would not be too keen.

No booking procedures.
No early starts.
No problem with using your other car, if the Camaro is off the road.

It's not a bad idea................is it?
It's a good idea and one that needs to be supported
The thing about race events is that the social side gets lost as people tend to head off to watch the event ...
I think maybe trying to get a couple of local meets going maybe on the back of existing meets ?
A few of us have ventured up to The Goat at Hertford Heath for a Sunday lunch and it is a nice place.
Also a little west of London there is a pub at Coleshill ( just out side Amersham) that have a good meet every 2nd tuesday of the month . It has a large car park and a good laid back atmosphere, could be worth some of us trying to touch base there some time .
Any ideas welcome 8-)

So depending on demographics we have the ace cafe, the goat, Amersham and Santa pod , I'm up for it wherever but I get the feeling If nobody makes the decision as to where this thread will go on forever! So I'm going to suggest the ace cafe on the American cruise in night which I believe is the last Saturday of the month. It starts at 4 and usually the bulk of people leave by 7 to head up to Chelsea cruise so how about we meet at 7 ? That way if people wish to have a good nose at all the other cars they can get there before hand , people who have to work can get there by 7 maybe? And there will be plenty of room after 7 to park , there is food and drink aplenty and lots of indoor seating should it rain, I'm happy for somebody to make different plans for he meet if they have reason why the ace isn't suitable for everyone, I'll be there this month anyway so it suits me

Despite this cruel and heartless response, I also intend to be at the Ace on the 27th.
So, who else is coming?

Lol! I'm probably gonna be in my "other" car now and won't be allowed into the car park

I'm working that night, gotta be in Suffolk around 7 or 8 pm at a guess, so it's possible I could swing by earlier in the afternoon... ;) Also would be in 'another' car..

I'm in, likely there in the TA but that could change, the fate of the Camaro rests in the hands of a man who can put some glue on some glass.

The infrequent gearbox rumbles I have had since I got it have become frequent gearbox rumbles, it still drives as it should but I can't afford the £2500 I will need for a replacement box if it all goes to pot so I need to stop driving and get it rebuilt before the inevitable happens

So, are we all meeting at the Ace on Saturday?
'78 should be fine in the TA, it's a Pontiac 60th Pow-Wow bash!
The start time is 16:00, prior to that is an MX5 meet (from 11:00).
So if you're early, try not to run over any of the little things!
Stu, is that early enough for an appearance by yourself?
Feel free to sound-off if you're in.
