Well he can, only the turbo boost was designed to leap over cars, lorry trailers and for bashing into concrete dams. Bonnie did not design it for a 3000 mile jump over the Atlantic ! :D

You might be mixing up KITT with the AMC Matador that Scaramanga drove in The Man With The Golden Gun.

Just had a look at the "Replica Diary" on your website and saw that you bought your car in London in December 2006. Did you buy it from a young foreign geezer in Battersea ?

It looks very similar to the one I went to look at around that time.

Yes, an Estonian guy called Ellis I think. It needed some work on brakes, rear shocks etc but its solid underneath, good body panels, the gearbox sounding like a bag of spanners had been left in there, but it was just loose flex plate bolts which took 5 mins to sort out! It was a good bargaining tool though ! ;)

 Ha, then I saw your car before you bought it ! Has a crossfire injection engine, blowing exhaust and dodgy headlight switch that needed a bit of coaxing to get working right ? I didn't bother to test drive it.

To be honest it was the seller that put me off. He kept talking to me like a proper salesman using my name in every sentence. "It's a good car Tony, nothing wrong with it Tony. Tony, what do you think of the car...."

It was about 2 or 3 months after I bought my Firebird, this one was a V8 and it was cheaper than what I paid for my V6 :(

That's the one, I had the "blow" patched for £10, the rest of the exhaust system is sound, and it sounds good too! I have bought a new switch for the headlights, CFI engine is running sweetly, the T-Tops dont leak, its all round a good solid Transam.

It went through our Isle of Man import test (like a very strict MOT) 2nd time, I had to replcae rear shocks (I bought KYB AGX adjsutables, VERY nice!), rear drums, handbrake cables, one wheel bearing, track rod ends and that was it I think.

he nearly put me off buying it, and to be honest, if I hadn't flown all the way down from the Isle of Man to London City, and been stuck with just a boat ticket back from Heysham (near Lancaster!), I might have given it a miss, but I haggled him down and took a gamble which paid off. The car is still giving me no trouble. It fits in my garage (just) so its got a nice easy life with me now, slowly morphing into KITT.

I got the feeling he couldn't afford to do any jobs on it, hence all the niggles etc.
