Have you decided on Pro Tour or Trans Am for the look ? I got to admit although the PT look is awesome I got some early TA DVD's and I'm sold on that nostalgic race car look.
At the moment I'm leaning towards the Trans Am look like my white T/A (pics posted elsewhere). I just can't make up my mind  I'm torn between keeping it looking like a nice clean Z/28, red with black stripes & just the Superlite wheels as a deviation from stock looking, OR,... going the T/A route with the period decals, race number 37, similar to those on my T/A, or possibly white roundals, with the name SoLoCo Camaro in gold leaf lettering (pinstriped in black) emblazoned down the rear 1/4 panels.(similar to the Penske/Donohue '69 Sunoco Camaro. The centres of the wheels would be painted dark charcoal with polished rims & it'll be slammed down to the ground. Either way the car's gonna be red

Either way this thing should have plenty of grunt (around 500+ hp & torque) & circuit racer handling. Whatcha all reckon, nice looking Z/28 or balls out racer?
Cheers..Nige
forgot you had an original Z. Maybe just do the stripe (have you thought about doing them in white instead ?), white roundals, superlites and a slammed stance. Either way you shouldn't do anything you can't return to stock. Just my 1p worth :)

Whatever I do to the car, it can always be put back to a stocker anyway, so I'm not concerned about that, it's just work to do it that's all  ;) . The car's gonna be a keeper so I'm "building it "for me". I'm not over struck on white stripes as there's a lot of cars running them ( as if there's not a lot of red '69 Camaros out there anyway   ), but thanks for the input, greatly appreciated ;). Either way it'll be red with the Superlites, just gonna have to make a decision...........Mmm... oh I dunno!! ;) cheers.....Nige

I know what you mean about the popularity of white stripes but I love the way Big Red (RIP) looked. Even the gold splits didn't look out of place.

Why the RIP, it's not dead is it :o ?? It was running only a few weeks ago at the Ultimate Street Car Challenge, here's a pic of it in action at that event. I love this car,.... 220 mph in a Camaro, who'd have thought it??

:D thank goodness for that, I love this car too. I'd read on an American forum the car got totalled in the La Carrera Panamerica race a few years ago :?:

just goes to show, you shouldn't always believe what you read.
