Hi guys,
Just joined the forum so i thought i'd better show my face and say hello!
I've been without a Yank motor for a while now. My first was a 1970 Challenger in the mid 90's: selling it was the most stupid thing i ever did when you see the prices they fetch these days! After that i had a yellow '82 Z28: It had the 305 carb engine and a TH350 box after the original had expired. Not fast, but a nice car. As usual though i found myself needing cash and sold it to the infamous 'American Car Exchange' in Wetherby for a grand in cash and a six banger '71 Javelin. Since then it's all been eurocrap although for the last 5 years i've run a Cortina 2000E which looks a bit like a Camaro if you squint at it when it's dark!
But the lure of the V8 can be resisted no more, so with the Cortina gone i'm looking for a suitable car. Budget dictates it will be a 3rd or 4th gen and i'm talking to a guy about his '94 Z28 at the moment. Fingers crossed!
While i'm posting, as i'm 'out of the loop' with regards to Yank stuff these days, what's the situation regarding fault finding with the tpi Camaros? Can they be serviced by regular garages or do i need to find a Yank specialist? Any recomendations in the Yorkshire area?
Don't suggest Castleford American Autos: i've had, er, dealings with them before...
Many thanks,
Mel
