Well, I finally drove Evilzee for the first time yesterday, & it certainly exceeded my high expectations. The car has been with my good friend Martin, who's been doing the mechanical side of things for me like building the engine, setting up the suspension, wiring etc etc. Martin circuit races a '70 Mustang Boss 302 clone in HSCC race series. My outline to him was that I wanted my '69 to handle as well as his Mustang & to perform at least on an equal footing to his car. ie to make it a street legal circuit racer like his ;) . His Mustang is very competitive in its class & can also run 12.80's @ 113.69 mph at the drags in full street trim, through the mufflers & with road tyres. With traction/slicks that set up would put his car into the 11's.

He took my car for an MOT on Tuesday & said that even in its untuned state it appears to be a fair bit more powerful than his racer. I took it out for a quick run yesterday & it does everything I expected & more ;) ;) It drives very well & feels quite docile, that is until you stand on it a bit  , at which point the whole world seems to go backwards very quickly indeed  . It seems very remeniscent of my old 10 second '55 Chevy. I don't think it's quite as quick, but it certainly has that "violent temperament" when the power's unleashed. Next stage is to get it tuned & set up to see if we can get a bit more power from it, then, once my back is better, I can get on with finishing the bonnet & get the car finished. I can't wait ;) ,

If anyone needs this type of work doing, just PM me & I'll pass on Martins details for you, I'd highly recommend him, cheers.....Nige

Car Details:just sold 68 Big Block Dodge Charger, prior to this had a 71 Camaro Z28 In Light blue metallic with black stripes, prior to that I owned the '72 Petty Roadrunner featured in lClassic American (painted by Nige from this forum no less!)

Now own a Sweet Candy Red 69 Chevelle, plans to make it go round corners lol
cool nigel so happy for you mate - you have put the work in and been more patient than I could ever imagine. can't wait to go for a ride mate!

Lucky for me Martin lives close by me too, I can vouch for his skills, ten mins playing with the carb and dizzy on my old RoadRunner made it feel like It had, had an engine transplant!

enjoy it Nige!

Well done Nige, you must be excited that the end is in sight. It's been great fun watching your build thread and seeing the car slowly come to life. Can't wait to see the finished article :)
