We've had a lot of new people join in the last few days, so I'd just like to say hello and welcome, tell us a little about yourself and your car if you haven't already done so.

Welcome then to NorwichCamaro, Frogz, MadMungo, 69Camaro454, Countryboy, Jimbo73, Cougar, Shetland, myold6t9, Z28302, and AMO111 all in the last month!

Looks like the future of Classic Camaros is a bright one!

Steven

Car Details:1979 Chevy Camaro Berlinetta 305
Hello!

Thank you for the welcome, it was very nice to see.

I drive a black 1979 Camaro Berlinetta. 305 engine with lots of edelbrock stuff. My favourite is the ratchet shifter.

2 weeks after her shiny paintjob she was hit by a POS nissan in south croydon and needs a few bits. Hence my searching the web today.

Am looking for a new nose, (it is currently ok looking but is backed by shed loads of fiberglass after the accident rebuild) Also someone tried to put door speakers in it and cut holes in the door trim, so would like a couple of black door trims.

Does anyone know of a good american salvage place in the UK?

Thanks
MadMungo (Torquil)

Welcome to the club, glad to see you're getting involved by posting on here. ;) ;) . The likelyhood of finding good condition door panels is gonna be pretty slim, whereas you may find a nose section a bit easier as a lot of the drag race guys take off the heavy old factory part & fit lightweight fibreglass in its place. try placing a wanted advert here:-

http://www.eurodragster.com/classifieds/default.asp

or here:-

http://www.rodandclassicmart.co.uk/leftframe.htm

or for a new fibreglass nose section:-

Dale Edmonds on 01993 772317

or you can buy the trim new from NPD in the US:_

http://www.npdlink.com/modules.php?name=Camaro_Catalog

Failing that try good old ebay UK & USA

Hope that helps.,,, Cheers.....Nige

wow, that is an excellent post. Thank you for the info :-)

i was looking for a new nose for the past few years and was just about to have one shipped from the US when i saw that there were a few places to try in the UK that i had missed.
Today i spoke to this guy:
Martin
DB Motors of Leicester
American Automobile Sales Spares & Tyres

t- 01858 880171 f- 01858 880167

and he said that they do a new (remanufactured) urethane nose for about 260 quid.

Although i am definately going to call the guy you posted about, a fiberglass front sounds like a good plan!

Thank you very much for the info :-D

If you do go down the fibre glass nose panel you'll also be saving yourself a shed load of weight. A nose is approximately 100lbs in weight with all of the reinforcing panels fitted!!! :o :o cheers.....Nige
