So now I can find 4 on eBay ! One is local pickup in Greece for £800 and one is in hook second hand(the one that was on pistonheads) for £1500, the others came from an Aston and he wants £2200
I wonder if any of them realise they are £2300 new with a warranty ?

Surely they're rebuildable for way less... ?

I have just spoken to "competition gearboxes" or the gearbox man in markyate who tell me it's only £275 labour + parts + VaT to rebuild it Stu so I think that's the way forward, they have about a 3 week lead time though so it'll be out of action for a month. On the plus side it's the box problems that's making me not do track days or take it up the strip so it'll open up some new fun when it's all done

So as an update the problem was the clutch! The clutch I replaced was stock and made the noise, the ever so exoensive clutch I brought from rock auto was also complete garbage! The plate must be made from chocolate and after less than 1000 miles of use has worn the friction surface by what looks to be 20-30% , it was noisey in all gears and also in neutral with the clutch pedal released, didn't disengage properly half the time and felt like the rear axle was going to brake whenever I used reverse, did I say it was garbage? We replaced the new clutch with some old second hand parts I had laying about and it's sorted it all out, no noises, nothing, I'm pleased as I don't need a new tranny but ever so slightly pissed off as I paid for the clutch, a fortune for the shipping and have had to pay Twice to have the box removed and clutch put in, I haven't checked the receipts but I must be down around £5-600 thanks to this overpriced relabelled Chinese shite! I wonder what the chances of getting a refund and some sort of compo are......probably none but I will be on the case first thing next week
