here's a couple of pics of a guitar I've just finished painting for a mate. He'd seen this design on a guitar & wanted to replicate it. This was a brand new Gibson that he'd just bought, but he didn'tlike the rose colour of it, so I had to strip it to bare wood & start from scratch. The grain was really bad on it, so I had to grain fill the whole thing before I could start.

It was then primed & flatted

A base white applied

After masking out the design, it was painted black, the masking then removed & lacquered.

This was then flatted with 1500, followed by 2000 grit wet & dry & cut back & polished

A pic of the shine/reflection in the finished lacquer.

He seemed really happy with it, which makes the effort all worth while

cheers...Nige

Hi Stu, I had my mate who owns a graphics shop plot & cut it out for me. It was a really easy guitar to do, but does look quite effective

cheers...Nige
