I like number 2. I like the web address curving around with the outer shape, and the bowtie.

Don't want to put a dampener on things but, if you want to make a good quality printed vinyl sticker and print/embroider apparel then your artwork is going to need to be much cleaner and originated as a vector or at least output as raster at 600dpi at actual print size for the sticker and at least 300dpi at actual size for the t-shirts etc. Anything else just won't be up to scratch and definitely isn't of a quality I would sell... or buy for that matter.

I supply a lot of artwork for embroidery/screenprint, and all I can say is, what looks "ok" on a monitor at 72/90dpi looks very different when printed and stuck on your car or embroidered on your shirt.

Screenprinting on black shirts is full of pitfalls for a start and of course embroidery defnintely has its limits when it comes to minimum line size, outlines and suchlike due to garments stretching and wandering under the needle and you just have to work within some not so well defined parameters to attempt to get the best outcome for all eventualities with your logo.

If I can be of any help with this sort of stuff, just drop me a message.

Hi, thanks for your input & advice, it's appreciated. The artwork that you see on here is just for others to get an idea of what can be made & for them to give opinions on. The artwork will be done from scratch as opposed to lifting the "script" etc from here as has been done at this stage. A proof would be available before any were produced in quantity. The actual decals are very high quality & the guy that makes them is very well repected for his high quality work.It doesn't make any odds to me who actually makes these thing to be honest, but I feel that it would be good for the club cheers.........Nige

Hello Nige,

I'm actually in the marketing/creative business really, specialising in motorsport and most of our work is in the world of drag racing although not exclusively by any means. Most of our work is in the US but I've been doing quite a lot in middle east recently too. We work with race teams/venues and sponsors and supply everything from a race car paintscheme design to a matching sfi firesuit, handouts/hero cards, crew-shirts and other teamwear, merchandise including diecasts etc etc etc...

http://www.motorsportmarketingsolutions.com is our website if you want to have a look.

With the work being all over the world I don't do any printing in-house, but I have some very good suppliers in various territories and have a good local printer and a great supplier for both screenprinted and embroidered clothing here in the UK. They've both produced some really great quality stuff for me at a really good price. So if the club does need anything, I'm sure both would do us a good deal even on short runs.

The key especially with T-shirts/Shirts is to get the quality right. There's a lot of people doing stuff cheap, but you can really tell its cheap when you put it on and in reality I can usually get the right quality stuff at the same sort of price as these internet suppliers do the cheapo's at. The promo quality T-shirts that most places do for about £9-10 actually come out at about £5 plus shipping to us including a single colour screenprint, even on a fairly short run, but I wouldn't give them away to be honest!

For comparison purposes if you have a look at the shirts on the Corvette Club site that they sell at £35, we can do a very similar shirt for significantly less than that (say around 2/3rd the cost) or a matching two colour Polo shirt for even less, including an embroidered small left breast logo on the front and a 10" logo across the back. With embroidery you really pay per stitch so something big across the back like the Corvette Club shirts does add about £6 to the price. Screenprint is cheaper if you're thinking less colours (preferably 1 colour on a short run) but screenprint is always better on T-shirts whereas embroidery works better on shirts and polos.

Obviously I can get my hands on pretty much anything you'd want to print or embroider the club logo on, so if I can help just drop me a message or something ;)

Mrs Mighty and I share the driving of "Pearl" our 2002 Eurospec Z28. She's black, with the charcoal interior and only covered 25k miles. She's our first Yank and we've had her about 14 months now although the whole buying a yank motor thing was just a long time coming as I've been around drag racing and yanks and rods since I was a kid. I'll put more info up in an introduction thread later...

Mighty
