I like the idea of a v8 protest. anyone up for it? we could gather with Rods n sods, v8 mentalists etc.

Really don't think it's been thoguht through based on the economical side of things i.e putting people out of business. surely it's also an infrigement on human rights? we owne these damn cars, to take away how we express our skill and style is surely a breach of human rights?

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

Hi all, 78 Camaro, Nigel etc. I have been reading and crapping myself about all of this. My thoughts are that even though I hope this all goes away and we can still see our friendly MOT man as usual next year. When and if the 8 point system comes into force any car deemed suspicious by plod will be recommended for an intensive BIVA/VOSA inspection which it will fail.

Further more the American car glass issue is a biggie as I doubt UK/European auto glass manufacturers will start production for the wide range of vehicles in the UK. If they do expect to pay £2500 plus for a windscreen!!!!

The best bet for people like me without fat wallets that have "blinged" their car to the point of cartoon like caricature is to sell it to someone in the US via Ebay...LOL!!!

Because it'd cost twice as much as it cost to mod it to get my baby to comply or not stand out to plod!

(Re the V8 protest. It's good idea. Please could you look into setting a date, time, place and then propagate it across the forums and Facebook . We can completely deafen central London in the process!!!)

hi mate ye we need the protest for defo  the way to get round the glass thing is to take the front screen out for the mot alot of messing about but its a pass as a car does not need a windscreen for an mot :)

Good idea on the glass. Although I just realised it should only apply to late American cars. After reading this I just took mine for a spin to get a bottle of wine. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I'll miss her if these laws slowly erode our fun!

I just read all this thread and omg! :o
So what is their main gripes in order to bring in these laws, ok i see some safety aspects, but it goes much further than that, it's like something's annoying them and they thought "i know, we'll do (new laws) and THAT'll stop them all and keep them inline" it all comes down to conditioning us all (the population) and getting us used to being controlled!!!

Beneath it the caption read....
